The “Science, Sound, Experience” department at Mercedes-Benz needed a compelling visual translation of its research and innovation in in-car audio systems. The challenge was to communicate complex technological concepts—such as sound engineering and human-machine interaction—in an emotionally engaging and visually striking way.

The concept is based on the fusion of sound, movement, and human perception. Dynamic, organically shaped waveforms visualize the relationship between sound and human intelligence, transforming technical audio data into an immersive visual language.

Animated typography and a moving background system were integrated to enhance the narrative and create a strong audiovisual identity. The result is a motion-based key visual that communicates innovation through rhythm, flow, and energy.

I was responsible for the development of the key visual concept and its motion design execution. This included designing and animating the core visual system, integrating typographic motion, and refining the overall animation structure for presentation purposes.

For the “Amilight” project, I created a dynamic light animation in After Effects that synchronizes with the vehicle’s ambient light and sound system. I enhanced the intensity and rhythm of the lighting to visually translate sound dynamics into a spatial and emotional experience.

In addition, I supported production phases by assisting with visual development and documenting early design iterations.

The final result is a high-impact motion identity that translates complex audio technology into an accessible and emotionally engaging visual experience. The animation system successfully communicates the “Science, Sound, Experience” narrative and creates a memorable impression of Mercedes-Benz’s innovation in automotive sound design.

The Amilight animation extends this approach by directly connecting sound and light, resulting in an immersive and responsive visual experience that enhances perception of in-car audio technology.
