Hi, I'm Mao,
A UI/UX & Communication Designer.
Basically, I make things look great and work even better, whether it’s on a screen or in print. I mix smart design with a bit of storytelling magic to help brands connect their audience in all the right ways!
Biography:
I am a 34-year-old designer originally from China, and I have been living in Germany since 2011, where I completed both my Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and my Master's in Communication Design. For the past five years, I have worked as a UX/UI and communication designer at a design agency in Stuttgart. I am passionate about creating visually compelling and meaningful work, with a deep appreciation for aesthetics and art in all forms. I strive to communicate with purpose and intention through design, ensuring each project connects with people in a thoughtful and impactful way.
In my current mindset as a designer, I’ve learned the importance of being fluid and adjusting to whatever comes my way—whether in work or life. Each project presents new challenges, evolving needs, and unexpected situations. The ability to adapt is what keeps me moving forward, and it's a skill I hope to hold onto for good.
Being fluid means embracing change without resistance. At work, ideas shift, client feedback can change, and deadlines may become unpredictable. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I’ve learned to go with the flow. Flexibility not only makes me a better designer but also fuels personal growth. The more I adapt, the more I thrive—whether it’s adopting new design trends or handling last-minute requests.
The same principle applies to life. Things rarely go exactly as planned, but learning to adjust without losing focus helps me stay balanced. It’s about realizing that nothing is permanent—circumstances shift, and so must I. This mindset allows me to stay calm and resourceful, no matter what life throws at me.
Ultimately, being fluid is about staying open to change and learning to thrive in uncertainty. While I may be working through this mindset now, I believe this ability to adapt will carry me far beyond my current role as a designer. It’s a quality I hope to keep for the long term, shaping both my work and my life.
