Description:
Der Weinkommissar, located in the Kö-Galerie Düsseldorf, combines a wine bar and wine shop within a hospitality-driven concept. The challenge was to create a visual identity that unifies both functions while establishing a distinctive and memorable brand personality within a competitive lifestyle and gastronomy environment.
-
The concept is based on a minimal and symbolic logo system that connects the world of wine with the brand name. Starting from the silhouette of a wine glass, the form was reduced and refined into a character-like symbol. By adding two simple elements, the shape transforms into a stylized figure wearing a hat—subtly referencing the “Kommissar” idea. This creates a playful yet elegant brand mark with strong recognition value.
-
I was responsible for the logo design and the core visual concept. This included conceptual exploration, sketch development, and the final refinement of the logotype. The focus was on a reduced visual language with a strong conceptual foundation and versatile application across different touchpoints.
-
The result is a minimalist and characterful logo that merges wine bar and retail experience into a cohesive brand identity. The design establishes a clear visual signature while supporting a warm, social atmosphere and strong recognition for the venue.
