Description:
Many people face a lack of affordable and flexible storage solutions, while at the same time unused space in private homes remains untapped. The challenge was to design a platform that connects these two groups in a simple, trustworthy, and efficient way.
-
Rent a Space is a location-based platform that connects people who need storage with those who have unused space available. The service enables users to rent rooms, garages, or storage areas in their local neighborhood for personal belongings such as clothes, bikes, books, art, or vehicles.
The platform focuses on flexibility, trust, and accessibility, offering both short- and long-term rental options. Core features include real-time availability, location-based search, in-app communication, verified user profiles, and secure payment handling.
-
I contributed to the conceptual development and UX/UI design of the platform, focusing on user flows, service structure, and the visual presentation of the core product experience. This included defining key interaction features such as search, booking, and communication logic, as well as supporting the overall service design approach.
-
The result is a clear and structured platform concept that explores a peer-to-peer storage solution in a user-friendly way. By combining real-time availability, verified profiles, and streamlined booking and communication flows, Rent a Space defines a scalable system for connecting people with unused storage space and those in need of it.
The project was developed up to a conceptual and design stage, focusing on core user flows, feature definition, and interaction design for a trust-based sharing ecosystem.
